The countdown has begun! Wetskills South Africa 2026 is ready to kick off in the beautiful City of Cape Town, bringing together 27-30 talented students and young professionals from South Africa, Lesotho, Ethiopia and the Netherlands and around the world for two weeks of innovation, collaboration and water solutions.
This year’s programme features five challenging real-life cases, provided by leading organisations from the South African water sector. Working in multidisciplinary and international teams, participants will develop innovative and practical solutions while strengthening their professional skills, expanding their international network and becoming part of the growing global Wetskills community.
The programme offers much more than teamwork. Participants will take part in an inspiring mix of technical workshops, company visits, networking activities and cultural experiences. A special highlight is the joint workshop with the Water Research Commission (WRC) on 22 July after the WISA opening ceremony at the WRC Booth. Some Wetskills Alumni will (re-)present their case will engage with experts on some of South Africa’s most pressing water challenges and explore opportunities for follow-up.
The programme will conclude with the exciting Wetskills Finals on 22 July 15.30-17.30, where all teams will present their solutions to an international jury during the WISA Conference. The winning team will be announced during the vibrant WISA Gala Dinner on 23 July.
A heartfelt thank you goes to all case owners, partners, supervisors and sponsors who have made this edition possible. Together, we continue to invest in the next generation of water professionals and demonstrate the power of international collaboration in addressing global water challenges.
We wish all participants an inspiring, educational and unforgettable Wetskills experience in Cape Town. Good luck to all teams and we look forward to seeing your innovative ideas take shape!
