Today was the day to experience the Museu de les Aigües which is a unique, cultural, heritage and educational museum where knowledge is shared about water cycle. The museum thrives to transform society by creating innovative perspectives around this life-giving resource known as ‘Water’.
We embarked on a journey to discover the unique heritage museum, which tells about supplying water to more than 3 million people living in Barcelona and its metropolitan area for over 100 years.
I discovered that ‘A society has to understand their historical heritage to look to the future’. In simple terms, ‘The past informs us on how to structure the future’. The museum gives a unique space in which to understand the integral cycle of water and its role in the social and urban development cities.
In conclusion, the museum is guided by five values which are Inclusion, Sustainability, Cooperation, Information and Knowledge.
