Saturday started with Innovation round where groups were temporarily restructured so that members from other groups could form a makeshift group. The task was to explain your case and its solutions to the group, get feedback and also listen to other members’ cases, and probe their cases. The main aim was homogeinity, to test if all group members were at the same level with their cases and solutions.

Sunday was moving day. Yet we didn’t just pack and left, we started with the grind. We made pitched presentations before our supervisors, noted areas that needed improvements and we closed shop at 1015hrs. We left Mananga Lodge for Bethel Court, halfway across the country, making a few stops taking in the scenery to revive our creative energy batteries in readiness for the last leg of the program.

Monday started of with an excursion to CONCO and the National Waste Management Plant and Matsapha Sanitary Landfill. At the different sites, experts took turns explaining their processes, while we as young professionals could ask questions to gain an insight of the process, and highlighted areas that needed further research and innovation.

It wouldn’t have been a Wetskills day if it didn’t end on a feedback session on the pitch and poster presentation.
