Wetskills-Zimbabwe 2024 – Blog day 6 –
The countdown is on! It is 6 days to the final competition and groups are eagerly working to meet deadlines and milestones. The day started before 9 am with teams converging at the NUST American Space, the auxiliary campus space of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). This is a facility in the centre of the city which offers a serene environment for team meetings and personal study.
Facilitators assessed the progress of teams, provided constructive feedback to guide teams on refining their respective business proposals. Additionally, sessions for the day were focused on using tools specifically the Business Model Canvas, business pitches, poster presentations to develop business cases to case owners.
The training session on the business model canvas challenged participants to design, visualise and communicate their respective business models. Participants were expected to analyse their strategies and value propositions to case owners. Also, the introduction of the poster presentation was aimed at exuding confidence out of participants, enhancing communication skills and encouraging interactive engagements during presentation. Each group was tasked with developing convincing business pitches which offered realistic solutions to case owners.
The day ended with peer reviews and progress reports to track milestones and the needed support to drive success.
