Wetskills-Zimbabwe 2024 – Blog day 1 –

We had an unforgettable team building experience at the Wetskills Zimbabwe challenge, held at the beautiful Carnarvon Guest House in Hillside, Bulawayo. It all started with a mini meet and greet, where our supervisors Craig and Mthokozisi introduced themselves, and we got to do the same. Our diverse team consisted of 18 participants from Zimbabwe, 3 from Ghana and 1 from the Netherlands.

The highlight of our day was the team building braai, which turned out to be an absolute blast! We witnessed amazing team spirit, with everyone pitching in to marinate the meat and take charge of the braai process. This relaxed setting also gave us the perfect opportunity to network and get to know each other better. We learned about each other’s professions, interests, and what motivated us to take on the Wetskills Zimbabwe challenge.

The consensus was clear: climate change is real, and we need to work together to reduce its effects.

The atmosphere was electric, with great music playing in the background and people sharing their personal experiences. After a delicious meal, our supervisors announced that our next adventure would begin at the museum, and we couldn’t wait to see what was in store! We headed to our accommodations, feeling energised and excited for the days ahead. It was an incredible experience, and we’ll always treasure the memories we made as the Wet Skills Zimbabwe team, a vibrant mix of locals and internationals united by a shared passion for solving water related problems.
