YWP-ZA, WISA and Wetskills formalized their partnership (MoU)

Midrand, 5 June 2023 and Durban, 8 June 2023 – Last period Young Water Professionals of South Africa (YWP-ZA), Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA) and Wetskills Foundation prepared a MoU to formalize the current (longstanding) cooperation with the aim of strengthen it. The ambition is to align the communities in South(ern) Africa and to support each others events and other activities.

The partners are already cooperating since the first Wetskills event in South Africa (2012). This Wetskills event was organized during the WISA Conference in Cape Town (and since then 4 more Wetskills events had the finals during the biannual WISA Conference). Besides the finals of this Wetskills-South Africa 2012 was organized at the YWP Pavilion of the YWP-ZA.

The signing procedure was in two phases and needed 6 signatures. Lester Goldman (CEO WISA) and Johan Oost (managing director Wetskills Foundation) signed in Midrand on 5 June. Both had a witness: Jaco Seam (Event manager WISA) and Gabrielle Knufman (CEO World Water Academy). The second phase was the signing of Anya Eilers (Chair National Committee of YWP-ZA and Zutari), witnessed by Dan Naidoo (Umgeni Water and board member WISA), which took place during the #cocreateMYCITY Conference in Durban.
