Sally Arsalan

Sally Arsalan, an agricultural engineer from Syria, working in the field of developing sustainable agricultural solutions and strengthening community resilience to climate change. I have over eight years of experience in development work and project management.
I currently serve as a Project Officer within the Food Security and Climate Resilience Programme, where I design and implement practical initiatives that promote agricultural sustainability, improve the efficient use of natural resources, and respond to the needs of local communities.
Alongside my executive role, I work as a trainer in agricultural and environmental training and capacity building, with a particular focus on youth empowerment and engaging young people as key actors in developing sustainable solutions.
In 2020, I was awarded a grant from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in recognition of an applied initiative focused on improving water-use efficiency in agriculture.
My participation in the Wetskills Programme was a pivotal professional experience that reinforced my belief that work grounded in collaboration, participation, and mutual respect is not merely a professional approach, but a model applicable to various aspects of life—one that transforms challenges into real opportunities and makes building a more sustainable future both possible and achievable.
