Why Wetskills?
I am particularly drawn to Wetskills because of the rather unique platform that it offers for tackling real-life water challenges through innovative solutions, international collaboration, valuable partnerships and community engagements, personal growth and development, mentorship and the program’s impact and contribution to Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 6, which focuses on clean water and sanitation, bringing about a meaningful impact on global water challenges.
As an alumnus of the Wetskills program with a strong scientific background, I am exceedingly excited to take on the role as a supervisor in this initiative. My experience as a participant in Wetskills Durban has given me a deep understanding of the importance of sustainable water management. I am eager to share and impart my knowledge and expertise with participants, assisting them in the development of innovative solutions to real-life challenges.
With my scientific background, I can provide guidance on research methodologies, data collection and analysis, and critical thinking, empowering participants to produce high-quality and relevant work. As a supervisor, I will be unwaveringly committed to supporting participants in developing their skills and knowledge, thereby contributing towards their professional transformation into future leaders in the water sector. I will foster a collaborative and optimistic work environment by encouraging participants to share their ideas and learn from each other.
My experience in strategic planning and implementation will enable me to assist participants with developing effective solutions to water challenges. I intend to draw on my knowledge of quality control and assurance to ensure that participants’ work meets high standards.
As a supervisor in the Southern African Wetskills program, I will be dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment which encourages participants to grow and develop. I will provide regular feedback and guidance, assisting participants to refine their skills and build confidence in their abilities. Given my passion and expertise in water conservation and professional excellence, I am confident that I can make a valuable contribution to the program and inspire the next generation of water professionals.
