Wetskills-Zimbabwe 2024 – Blog Day 9 –

The unexpectedly chilly Saturday dawned dull and gloomy, but this did not deter our Wetskillers from attending in full force. The participants assembled mid-morning, and got straight to business.

The resident DJ, Courage Nyoni, who never fails to mention that he is an award winning author, began the dance session with the track “Izolo” by Daliwonga. The Skillers enjoyed an afternoon of amapiano, afro beats, reggae, and kwaito music sparking dance trains around the workspace including almost everyone, in particular the “umlandu” dance, where our Ghanaian colleague Padi really showed off his dancing abilities.

After a long day of deserved socializing and relaxing, one of the guys decided to initiate a game of FIFA, with Ghana severely beating Zimbabwe in almost all matches. This pushed the DJ to play heartbreak songs such as Hello by Adele and All of Me by John Legend, to ease the hearts of the defeated FIFA players. The team finally retired in the evening, where they were met once more with even chillier weather.
