After a weekend filled with training and knowledge consumption.
We started the week off with the official start of the Wetskills Challenge 2025 ( Cape Town). The day started with an introduction of the Wetskills program which included
A journey through the past Wetskills Challenges which have been based in different parts of the world including the African countries which have hosted their Wetskills such as Mozambique, Wetskills Zimbabwe , Wetskills Lesotho and including Wetskills Durban. This provided us with significant insight into the history of Wetskills but also the possiblities that lie ahead once we expand our reach and participate in the program. We also shared a glimpse of previous Wetskills pitches how and insight into how the participants worked together to achieve the common goal of a winning case pitch. To say this was motivating is an understand, it was amazing to see what has been done before and how we can further develop and expand on our ideas to make something tangible and impactful happen with our cases.
We ended the day off with each team having separate sessions with Case experts who not only helped us further hone in on our varied skill set as a team but more so help us locate some of the gaps in our cases in order to come up with tangible yet impactful solutions for our case studies. The day was exciting, enriching and fulfilling ! What a successful and important moment in the Wetskills 2025 program.
