Wetskills-NL 2025 – blog 9 –
Today started in the best way possible, with a great cup of coffee at a cozy corner in Amsterdam. I took some time to explore the neighborhood around the StayOkay Amsterdam Oost Hostel, a vibrant area filled with shops and local energy. It was a refreshing way to start the day before diving into work.
With only today and tomorrow left to finalize our Wetskills project, the atmosphere was much more intense than the previous days. We focused on refining our pitching skills, finalizing our posters, and wrapping up our research paper. The pressure was on, but so was our determination. Everyone in the team was fully engaged, making sure that every detail was polished to perfection.
During lunch, we tried some activities at a kids’ playground with our supervisor, Elena. She is really cheerful, and her energy is contagious! It was great to taking a moment to play and relax.
Also, I had an unexpected but delightful experience. Along with some fellow participants, I stumbled upon a second-hand shop nearby. It was a lucky find! The store had great deals, and I managed to buy a warm beanie and a small torch – all for just 2 euros. Definitely one of the best deals I’ve ever scored!
As the day wrapped up, exhaustion set in, but so did a deep sense of satisfaction. We worked more efficiently today, and our final results are becoming clearer and more polished. The teamwork, the unexpected fun moments, and the progress we made all contributed to an incredibly fulfilling day. Looking forward to the last push tomorrow!
