It all started with the Brain Hurricane session, where we had the chance to ask each top expert for recommendations on our project solutions. Each team had only 10 minutes per expert, the pressure was on, but it pushed us to think fast, choose smart questions, and absorb as much as we could. It suits the title of the activity, if yesterday is brainSTORM, today is brain HURRICANE.

Next, we went on a field visit to Kudu Water Treatment Plant. We were amazed to learn that they have already started producing their own bottled drinking water. Super impressive. Not to mention, the site itself was massive! just imagine the pre-sedimentation area alone covers 7,6 hectares!

Our journey continued to The Sinking Village, which was both eye-opening and emotional. We were shocked by the condition of the area, where the ground keep sinking, but what stood out the most was the resilience of the people living there, they refuse to leave and are determined to stay. What they really need is better road access instead of new houses. Many houses look unusually short because residents  have repeatedly raised their floors over time to adapt to the rising water levels.

And finally… the most unexpected moment: our bus got stuck! We had to wait for a while, but thanks to the teamwork of those who jumped in to help, we eventually managed to get the bus out and make our way back to the hotel.

From intense discussions, eye-opening site visits, to unexpected adventures, this Wetskills journey is one we will never forget!
