My name is Hanna Verduijn, and I have gained experience in different roles within the water sector, including working as a geohydrologist and as a specialist in water safety. More recently, I have been involved in projects on a range of themes, including aquathermal energy.
I have always been interested in sustainability and water-related challenges. I chose to study Water Science and Management because of its interdisciplinary character, which reflects my belief that complex water issues cannot be solved from a single perspective. In addition to interdisciplinarity, I strongly believe that intercultural understanding and collaboration are essential in today’s interconnected world — which is one of the reasons Wetskills resonates with me.
I joined Wetskills as a participant and experienced the program as an intense and inspiring pressure cooker. Working on a real-life challenge in a culturally diverse team — with different backgrounds, perspectives, and working styles — was both challenging and incredibly valuable. While these differences can sometimes lead to tension, I found it especially rewarding to see how a group can grow into effective collaboration and develop strong, creative solutions together.
I genuinely enjoy coaching people and supporting their development. I look forward to guiding participants by asking the right questions, strengthening team dynamics, and helping young professionals grow — both personally and professionally — as they prepare to contribute to the future of the water sector.
