Wetskills-SA (Gauteng) 2025 – Blog 1 –

Hey there, water enthusiasts and curious minds! We just got back from an epic day out with Wetskills Gauteng Region 2025, and we’re buzzing about the adventures we had!

Roodeplaat Dam Wall: Where Water Meets Wonder

We kicked off our day with a visit to the Roodeplaat Dam wall, a spot where engineering meets nature in the most dramatic way! Imagine standing on the edge, watching water cascade down like a mini-waterfall, feeling the mist on your face, and thinking about the huge role this dam plays in water management for Gauteng.

Daspoort Waste Water Treatment Plant: The Unsung Heroes of Clean Water

After the dam, we headed to the Daspoort Waste Water Treatment Plant, a behind-the-scenes look at how wastewater turns into… well, water that’s safe for the environment! We took a tour and learned about the processes that keep our water clean. But it wasn’t all serious business, we also had some fun! We played Crazy 88 and ended the day with a hilarious game of charades. Who knew learning about wastewater treatment could be so much fun?

Learning, Laughs, and Team Vibes

This trip wasn’t just about water infrastructure; it was about connections. We had presentations, group walks discussing water management, and plenty of laughs with mates. Wetskills Gauteng Region 2025 is all about sparking curiosity and sharing knowledge in fun ways, and this trip ticked all the boxes!

The Takeaway

Water’s vital, and seeing it in action, whether it’s rushing over a dam or being cleaned at a plant – reminds us how tech and nature need to work together. We left inspired to think more about water sustainability and how we can play a part.

Thanks to everyone who joined us on this adventure! If you’re into water, tech, or just love learning through cool field trips, Wetskills Gauteng Region’s got more fun ahead!
