Wrap-up Future Water Leaders programme at Aquatech-China 2019

During the Aquatech China exhibition in Shanghai, Wetskills with the support of Amsterdam Rai (organiser of Aquatech-China) have organized a pavilion and programme for young water professionals under the brand Future Water Leaders. The programme aimed to address the development of the next generation of water professionals who will become leaders in the water sector.

 

Between the 3d and 5th of June, the FWL programme attracte recent graduates and young professionals in a series of activities designed specially to help expand their knowledge and network.On Monday, the programme kicked-off with the Wetskills participants and a series of introductions from Annete Bos of Amsterdam Rai, Nic Panekeet from 98 Sparks and the Dutch Wavemakers announced their first Chinese Wavemaker, Paralympic swimmer Jiachao. In the afternoon participants could interact with 3 panelists Olli Hakala (CEWP), Tomi Lukkarinen (HSY) and Libing Song (PureTerra Ventures) over the topic of the skills that today’s youth need to develop to become tomorrow’s water leaders.

 

The next two days saw a mix of facilitated networking, presentations and speed-date sessions with experts aligned to the third Wetskills Water Challenge in China. Zero Waste Shanghai presented their mission and organisation and Water Footprint Implementation gave a presentation about the Water Footprint.
