During the last 20 years, more and more sediments have been stored in the Huangpu River in the city of Shanghai. This is mainly caused by a changed flow profile due to extensive irrigation channels. In order to increase the hydrological capacity in the Yangtze delta, and improve security issues, especially in the background of climate change, an efficient logistic chain and application for the sediment is essential.
