DESCRIPTION:About The Event\n[vc_single_image image=”50762″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space image_repeat=”no-repeat”]New Wetskills event in Groningen: Building Climate Resilience with Nature!\nA special Wetskills event with the main theme: Nature based Solutions for Climate Adaptation \nFrom 18 to 30 October 2026\, Wetskills will bring its international innovation programme to Groningen\, The Netherlands. It will be the first Wetskills event in this vibrant northern city and the 11th edition organised in The Netherlands. \nClimate change is increasing the pressure on cities\, landscapes and water systems. Nature-based solutions can help us adapt by working with natural processes to address challenges such as flooding\, drought\, heat stress and biodiversity loss. \nDuring the two-week Wetskills programme\, multidisciplinary teams of students and young professionals from the Netherlands and abroad will work on real-life challenges submitted by organisations from the water and climate sectors. Guided by experts\, the teams will develop creative\, practical and out-of-the-box solutions. The programme will culminate in a dedicated workshop on Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Adaptation\, organised by Hanze University of Applied Sciences together with a broad network of stakeholders. Register before the deadline\, and we will directly let you know if you can join.  After this date\, some spots might still be available\, so stay tuned for the opportunities. \nWho can apply?\nAny Young Water Professionals (up to 5 years of working experience) and Bachelor (last year)\, Master or PhD students and recent graduates with a passion for water and intercultural teamwork from Spain\, Europe and beyond with a passion for water & sustainability and intercultural teamwork. \nHow can I apply?\nPrepare a motivation letter and resume\, click the button on the right\, fill out the online application form and submit it. \nSelection criteria\nThe Wetskills Team will make a final selection among applications received\, based on quality of motivation & resume. We also consider a good diversity of the whole group (incl. backgrounds\, local/international\, gender balance\, etc.). \nCosts\nThe participation fee for the Wetskills program is € 495* (excl. VAT\, applicable only in Europe). This fee covers accommodation (in a hostel\, with shared rooms)\, team-building activities\, some of the lunches and dinners\, field trips\, workshops\, and working facilities. Participants are also responsible for their travel expenses (such as plane tickets and local transportation)\, meals on working days\, and other personal costs. \nLocal participants\, who already have accommodation in Groningen (or can travel daily)\, will pay € 50 (excl. VAT\, applicable only in Europe) for the Wetskills participation. \nNote: Wetskills Foundation and partners strive to lower costs for local participants\, contact us for options.
