For The First Time To Hungary!!

This new edition of Wetskills will take the participants to the beautiful, authentic and water-rich Budapest, proud capital of Hungary. The blue Danube River splits the two city parts Buda and Pest, each with their own style and scenery. The Wetskills Foundation invites Bachelor, Master, PhD students and recent graduates in Hungary, Europe and from over the world to apply for this new Wetskills initiative. The presentations will be aligned to and close cooperation with the Budapest Water Summit (15-16 October). This will be the first Wetskills Water Challenge Hungary and it is the tenth time overall in Europe, after The Netherlands, Romania and United Kingdom. Wrap-up Future Water Leaders programme at Aquatech-China 2019

During the Aquatech China exhibition in Shanghai, Wetskills with the support of Amsterdam Rai (organiser of Aquatech-China) have organized a pavilion and programme for young water professionals under the brand Future Water Leaders. The programme aimed to address the development of the next generation of water professionals who will become leaders in the water sector.   Between the 3d and 5th of June, the FWL programme attracte recent graduates and young professionals in a series of activities designed specially to help expand their knowledge and network.On Monday, the programme kicked-off with the Wetskills participants and a series of introductions from Annete Bos of Amsterdam Rai, Nic Panekeet from 98 Sparks and the Dutch Wavemakers announced their first Chinese Wavemaker, Paralympic swimmer Jiachao. In the afternoon participants could interact with 3 panelists Olli Hakala (CEWP), Tomi Lukkarinen (HSY) and Libing Song (PureTerra Ventures) over the topic of the skills that today's youth need to...

Sailing to COP25 Climate Conference in Chili

A group of 20 young people is planning to sail from Europe to the COP25 Climate Conference in Chili (2-13 December 2019), to raise the voice of youth at the COP25 climate negotiations. With this trip they want to raise awareness on the negative impact of aviation and call for a fair and climate-neutral travel industry. Along the way a roadmap to a sustainable future of travel will be made. "The climate and ecological crisis is asking for a fast shift to a just and sustainable transport system. It should be easy, affordable and attractive to travel, without damaging the planet." Future Water Leaders programme @Aquatech-China 2019

For the second time, Wetskills Foundation will organise the Future Water Leaders programme at the Aquatech-China in Shanghai from 3 to 5 June 2019. in the meantime, Wetskills-China 2019 event will kick-off at this event. The program will focus on interactive engagement with young professionals, where participants and visitors will get a chance to learn, contribute insights and ask questions to industry experts and fellow peers. Different projects, themes and innovations will be introduced through panel discussions and quizzes. The discussions will focus on linking sector trends with skill development among young people while the quizes will touch upon topics such as Plastic pollution, Fashion Footprint and Conscious Consumption.  There will also be plenty of time allocated to guided interactions and spontaneous networking, as the Future Water Leaders booth will be the meet-up spot for young professionals. Wetskills Alumni in Cape Town pitch at AfriAlliance Event

On 15 May 2019, two Wetskills Alumni of the Car Town event 2018, pitched their team solution to the audience of the 2nd AfriAlliance Innovation Bridge Event in Cape Town. Rosa Domingos (Department for Water and Sanitation) pitched the Lesotho case: creating win-win situations for transboundary cooperation, while Craig Tinashe (University of Cape Town) presented the editions' winning case on Water Footprint of Cape Town: 'Bye Day Zero'.
