Announcements for Denmark and India in preparation

Coming weeks two new editions will become online: Denmark (12 - 23 October) and (3 - 14 January 2021). The liveable and water-rich City of Copenhagen will host this first Wetskills event in Denmark. With our partner YWP Denmark Wetskills Foundation aims to build up a sustainable relation and initiating more events coming years in this water-rich country (IWA Congres in 2021 and Ocean Race in 2022). Wetskills would especially like to welcome European participants to this event, due to coronavirus regulations. The City of Ahmedabad will be our host city for the fifth Wetskills event in India. With our partner Centre for Environment Education two previous editions were organised in this inspiring and beautiful city. Cherry on the cake: experiencing the the unique Kite Festival on 14 January in Ahmedabad (largest Kite Festival in the world). Wetskills is aiming to attract participants from various states of India as well, in case international travel is still not possible due to coronavirus. Alumni worldwide: Home Isolation Celebration Wetskills10

80 Alumni participants with a large variety of nationalities  joined the #Wetskills10 Years - Home Isolation Celebration for Alumni. This digital meeting (organised for the first time with Alumni) was organised on 9 June 14.00-15.00.   Watch the movie with all the 44 groups of Wetskills Water Challenges last ten years.   Ap Verheggen presented and discussed his project on SunGlacier. Three Alumni from different events were interviewed to exchange their experience, but also what Wetskills brought them for their later career. Wonjung Chung, pitcher of winning team in South Korea, stated that she became more open and direct to meet and tolk to foreigners. Frank spoke about his experiences in Iran and how these are still useful for his job at Waternet Amsterdam utility and Wetskills Team member. Announcement Wetskills-Hungary 2020

Join The Second Wetskills Event In Hungary! Wetskills Foundation and partners in Hungary and Europe will organise the Water Challenge for the second time in Budapest, Hungary after October last year. This edition of Wetskills started on 26 October, and will be organised in and around to the beautiful city of Budapest with the Danube River. During the 2-weeks program the participants were working in international, multidisciplinary teams on real-life water cases. The finals and presentations will be aligned to the Ökoindustria Conference & Exhibition (4-6 November). The theme of this event is liveable and safe rivers with topics like: plastics, valuing water, economic business cases, flooding, natural resources. Wetskills celebrates its 10 years anniversary (Home Isolation)

Exactly 10 years ago, 27 May 2010 the first Wetskills Water Challenge ever was held in Shanghai. Since, Wetskills literally traveled over the globe: making friends, co-creating ideas & solutions, contributing to water-events and making impact with 44 events in 23 countries worldwide.   27 May 2020: Wetskills Foundation invited all organizers of the 44 events (team members, local hosts, and close events organisers) to celebrate this moment in an appropriate ‘Corona-proof’ way: at home, but with the possibility to be connected to all our friends around the globe! 40 team members, ex-supervisors, local hosts logged in on ZOOM for an hour session. Ambassadors Ap Verheggen presented the latest results of his project SunGlacier (listen) and Kartikeya Sarabhai congratulated the Wetskills Foundation and explained his enthusiasm for the Wetskills method (listen).Wetskills Team members and involved in the first Wetskills event in China, Rick, Heikoop, Rick Hogeboom and Mia Zhemi, were answering questions about that...
