Wetskills-Indonesia 2018

September 2 - September 16

About The Event

Wetskills Events Wave

Join us to Semarang, Java, Indonesia!!

Wetskills will organize its second water challenge in Indonesia (after 2011). The Wetskills Foundation invites Bachelor, Master, PhD students and recent graduates in Indonesia and from over the world to apply for this Wetskills Water Challenge programme. This edition of Wetskills will take the participants to the Indonesian Experience of Semarang and Pekalongan in Central Java with its culture and pressing water challenges. The presentations will be aligned to and in close cooperation with the International Water Conference organized by our local host: Sultan Agung Islamic University (UNISSULA) on 14 September 2018.

To all who are interested in pressing and urgent water challenges of Indonesia (soil subsidence, non-revenue water, sanitation, flood protection, wetland conservation, dredging…) and the cultural heritage of Semarang and Central Java (Kota Semarang (old city), Borobudur and Prambanan near Yogyakarta): this is your chance! We are looking for local and international students and Young Professionals, who are passionate about water and excited to work in mixed teams for transdisciplinary water solutions. Register on this website now!

Application Deadline

Deadline for application and selection: 11 July 2018.

Participation costs for international participants or local participants without accommodation 390 euros. The fee includes accommodation in Semarang, programme costs, supervision, social activities, field trips, working locations, some of the meals, presentations by experts, soft skills training (presentation and working in teams) and the Finals and Awarding event. Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses (like plane tickets and some local travel), meals, drinks and other personal costs.

The fee for participants from Indonesia, with their own accommodation in Semarang, is 40 euros. It includes all above arrangements, except for the accommodation in Semarang.

During past editions participants often successfully arranged financial compensation for their Wetskills participation from their university or employer. We therefore strongly encourage applicants to inquire about funding opportunities to compensate the costs (university mobility funds, travel allowance etc.).
