August 25 - September 6

About The Event

Wetskills Events Wave

For the first time to México!!

Wetskills will organize its water challenge for the first time in México City and the the fourth time overall in North America, after Toronto (2014), Milwaukee (2015) and Boston (2016). The Wetskills Foundation invites Bachelor, Master, PhD students and recent graduates in México and from over the world to apply for the Wetskills Water Challenge programme. This edition of Wetskills will take the participants to the famous and vibrant México City with the beautiful Xochimilco. The presentations will be organized aligned to and close cooperation with the largest water event in México: Aquatech (4-6 September).

To all who are interested in water challenges and the ancient heritage of México City: this is your chance! Apply now for this great opportunity to experience México and its water challenges!

We are looking for local and international students and Young Professionals, who are passionate about water and excited to work in mixed teams for transdisciplinary water solutions. Apply for Wetskills-México 2018 (period: 25 August 2018 – 6 September 2018). We are looking for you!

Application Deadline

Deadline for application and selection: 19 June 2018.

Participation costs for international participants or local participants without accommodation in México City are 9000 Mexican peso or 390 euros. The fee includes accommodation in México City, programme costs, supervision, social activities, field trips, working locations, some of the meals, presentations by experts, soft skills training (presentation and working in teams) and the Finals and Awarding event at the Aquatech México Water Exhibition & Conference. Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses (like plane tickets and some local travel), meals, drinks and other personal costs.

The fee for participants from Mexico, with their own accommodation in México City, is 1200 Mexican peso. It includes all above arrangements, except for the accommodation in México City.

During past editions participants often successfully arranged financial compensation for their Wetskills participation from their university or employer. We therefore strongly encourage applicants to inquire about funding opportunities to compensate the costs (university mobility funds, travel allowance etc.).
